Katie Jensen

is an audio producer who specializes in arts & culture, news, current events, and science journalism.

Within her craft, she uses archival music, sound effects, and field recordings to tell jokes, build worlds, and travel in time. She co-founded Vocal Fry Studios in 2017 and has been making radio since 2009.

Many of her projects focus on underreported social justice issues with respect to human rights, justice, and gender-based violence. She aims to craft narratives that center survivor & marginalized voices as subject matter experts.

She has served as a contract lecturer for the School of Journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University and has mentored emerging creators at the Transmedia Zone. She has spoken at Hot Docs Podcast Festival, Atlantic Podcast Summit, World Radio Day, and Pop Montreal.
